I take a moment every now and then to stop and listen. I was told to:
- Be strong. Don't fret about life being unfair, life even things out.
- The dirty talk. Gossip could be entertaining, to a point. But never waste time over details that have little relevance to your life. Build on the foundation that your parents moulded for you. You could, if you minded your own business.
- Worry less about appearances??! A fascinating personal attraction, often illusory. Take care of your hair, fair looks better than tanned skin, colourful nails make you feel sexy, but don't get too obsessive.
- Petulant. Don't raise your voice, but improve your argument, broaden your knowledge, your skill, look beyond things, be reasonable. Manners are important but an exaggerated sense of etiquette is a turn off.
- You do not live to please others! Saying an occasional "No" will be better than saying an indiscriminate "Yes" especially when it can be happen to drag you down much later.
- There's no escaping the fact: You're in love with him!
Bear these in mind, they warned. I pledged...
No one's perfect, but at least we'd keep on trying~
